Pathways of Chesterfield - Wellbeing Group Trip to Iron Age Archery Centre!

As part of the wellbeing group, participants at Pathways of Chesterfield took a trip out to the Iron Age Archery centre. The setting was beautiful, and the group had a great bonding session with a lot of camaraderie and a touch of competitiveness!  Staff and participants alike said it was a great experience of mindfulness. Initially, people were tensing and struggling to hit targets, but with a few tips from the instructor regarding focused breathing, they saw instant improvements. So much of recovery is about giving your brain a rest from worrying and overthinking, and just having some time to enjoy being in the moment.

The archery excursion has been a highlight for many of the group attendees. The archery was followed by a picnic for everyone to enjoy, and it proved to be a wonderful opportunity to bond with each other and experience something new. You could see people grow in confidence as they improved and enjoyed taking part in this activity. There was even a lovely medal ceremony at the end! Both the group and staff have been raving about it for weeks afterwards.
