National Recovery Month: What's on this Week!

Did you know September is Recovery Month?

National Recovery Month was established in 1989 by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, celebrate the nation’s strong and proud recovery community, and recognize those who make recovery in all forms possible.

During Recovery Month the recovery projects in Derbyshire will be hosting their own events, find out what’s on this week:

Tuesday 3rd of September
Chesterfield FC Community Trust 10am - 1pm
The SMH Group Stadium, Chesterfield main entrance and will be held in the 1866 Lounge.

10am - Shane Nicholson (ex-professional footballer - who is the only player to be banned from Football through drugs and alcohol) who will be giving a talk.
11am - Tour of the SMH Group Stadium.
12am - Chair Based Exercise session.

Wednesday 4th September
Derby County Community Trust Football Event 11am start
A celebration football fixture taking place at Ilkeston Town Football, spectators are welcome!

Kick off at 11:00am

Friday 6th September
Pathways of Chesterfield, 10am and 1pm at 106 Saltergate, Chesterfield, S40 1NE.
Recovery themed graffiti with a chesterfield graffiti artist.

Mocktails designed by our wellbeing group and a BBQ will be available to help feed the creativity.
