The Princess of Wales has urged the public to change its attitude towards those dependent on drink or drugs - saying "addiction is not a choice".

The recent message from the Princess of Wales for Addiction Awareness has truly inspired us all. It's incredible to see such influential figures speaking out about the importance of recovery and the support available for people who are struggling with drugs or alcohol. This national spotlight on addiction awareness is a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience found in recovery communities across the country.

Here in Derbyshire, we are proud to have high quality substance use treatment services as part of a supportive network dedicated to helping individuals on their journey to recovery. With initiatives like the Recovery Space, Training and Volunteering and the robust variety of Recovery Projects and Treatment Providers, we are supporting Recovery.
