Update from our partners at the Growing Lives project:

“Growing Lives donate bat boxes to Breaston Parish Council

Derventio Housing Trust’s Growing Lives project have donated handmade bat boxes to Breaston Parish Council.

Growing Lives is skill-building project located in Ilkeston in Erewash. It is designed to support people to improve their health, strengthen their skills and get more out life by offering a safe, supportive environment where people can build the skills and tools they need to make long-term changes to their lives.

Participants have been busy in the Growing Lives workshop designing and building sturdy bat boxes. These were ideal for Breaston Parish Council, who have been looking for ways to encourage wildlife, flora and fauna in the village.

Kevin Miller from Breaston Parish Council praised the workmanship and skill of the participants. He said:

“It is an excellent workshop and they seem capable of producing anything they put their minds to.”
